The Be The Exception keynote presentation will engage and inspire your students with experiential learning, powerful storytelling, and actionable strategies customized for YOUR campus resources. The content is rooted in student development, involvement, and retention theories (Scholossber, Astin, Tinto, etc.) and backed by over a decade of in-the-trenches student affairs experience with thousands of college students.

They spend months job searching, then settle on the first job offer they get (only to realize early on that they hate that job.) This program will teach your students how to discover the career path that best fits them best, the counter-intuitive approach to picking the best college major, and the step-by-step blueprint for making themselves stand out to prospective employers.

StoryFormed Leadership
How your own life's story can help your peers write theirs.

Decent student leaders copy and paste leadership principles they read about into their daily work on campus. GREAT student leaders allow the story of their lives to tell them which leadership principles have shaped them the most, and then they "pay it forward" by offering the same value and service to the peers they lead on campus. This keynote/workshop weaves together two powerful stories: 1) The story of one consistent and intentional campus leader who was instrumental in Jacob’s journey from addiction to recovery as a sophomore, and 2) and “Where’s Kevin”, the story of how Jacob, as an RA, paid it forward to help change the life of an alcoholic student living in his building.
Your student leaders will leave this session inspired to get off the sidelines of student leadership and equip them to make an impact on campus that will last long after they graduate.

Eight Simple Words

What separates good student leaders from great student leaders? Great student leaders inspire disengaged students to become student leaders themselves. This keynote tells the inspiring story of Christine, who said eight simple words to Jacob that changed the entire trajectory of his college experience. Your students will be inspired and equipped to recruit and develop future student leaders by seeking potential in the students around them.
Icebreaker University

This hands-on workshop explores the Art and Science of Energizers and Icebreakers. Using over a dozen different icebreakers, your student leaders will experientially learn the psychological reasons why they are so powerful, and the practical steps on how to implement them into their work with the students they lead.
Better Speaking = Better Leadership
Available Formats: Workshop (MUST be combined with a Keynote)
This workshop, delivered after a keynote session, teaches student leaders how to elevate their impact on campus by elevating their public speaking skills. Students will get a “behind-the-scenes” glimpse into the “how” and “why” of the previous keynote’s content. Everything - the stories, mistakes, audience interactions, punchlines, body language, tone-of-voice, etc. – will be unpacked to give students tangible public speaking tips they can implement immediately in their next leadership meeting.
